Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in Hinsdale, IL

Kevin Koutsky, M.D.

Kevin M. Koutsky, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon serving patients at DuPage Spine and Orthopaedics in Hinsdale, Illinois. Dr. Koutsky chose a career in medicine because of his love of science and his fascination with the intricacies of the human body. He became an orthopaedic and spine surgeon because he loves working with his hands and has a deep respect for the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system.

He began his academic career by earning his medical degree from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. He then performed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois Hospital. After finishing his residency training, Dr. Koutsky completed a spine trauma fellowship in the Midwest Regional Spinal Cord Injury Care System at Northwestern University.

Dr. Koutsky's philosophy of care reflects his understanding that injury and pain can affect people in very different ways. He works hard to help patients develop a personalized, comprehensive care plan that works for their individual needs and circumstances. His goal is always to work towards helping each patient achieve or return to an optimal level of functioning.

He approaches orthopaedic and spine care in the most conservative way possible. Dr. Koutsky listens to a patient’s concerns and needs so he can accurately diagnose the cause of their symptoms and develop a care plan. He understands that surgical intervention, no matter how small, is always a major decision. Dr. Koutsky and the team at DuPage Spine and Orthopaedics reserve surgery as a last resort for when other treatments have not resolved or improved a patient’s pain.
